This post is going to cover Sticky’s Pineapple and N’butyric pop-ups in 12mm (small), these bright yellow pop-ups are a fantastic boilie, either used just off the bottom or on the surface.

The colour of the pineapple is almost fluorescent bright, and are really good in day or night.

The scent of the pineapple is good, it could be a little stronger but I think it is the N’butyric acid that really comes through. Ultimately what I can smell or with these boilies is irrelevant, it’s what the fish think of them.

Found in gone-off butter and some cheeses and extracted from them, N-Butyric is a totally natural organic acid.

Top anglers incorporate N’butyric Acid in a lot of bait they use and when paired with a pineapple flavour, must surely rate as one of the all-time great attractors and are particularly good for the colder months.

I had been fishing a local club water in February on an unusually warm day. I had been targeting the carp to the side of an island, using a simple ledger to braided hook length and hair rigged bloodworm sinker boilie. Nothing was taking on the bottom that day.

I took a walk around the lake and spotted 8-10 carp cruising, I stalked them for maybe 30-40mins to get the cruising pattern. I noticed that they were not bottom feeding at all, I quickly set up my spare rod with 8lb line, size 6 barbless hook and a rubber banded Sticky Pineapple & N’butyric pop-up.

They are extremely bouyant and can easily be free-lined or floater fished for surface fishing using a size 4 or size 6 hook.

A pretty decent result surface fishing for carp using  Sticky’s Pineapple & N’butyric Pop-up 12mm boilie.
